William Frederick Hammond Jr, 78, formerly of Framingham, died peacefully Friday, February 23, 2018 in West Newton.   

Born in Framingham, he was the son of  the late  William Frederick Hammond Sr. and Elsie (Nelson) Hammond LaFrance.

Bill was a US Army veteran, serving our country from 1962 to 1968 and was honorably discharged. For many years he worked for the Town of Framingham

Bill leaves his children, Cynthia Hammond of Fall River; Kimberly Rybak and her husband Brian of Hudson; Paul Hammond of Morehead City, NC; his sisters, Sandra Driscoll of Florida, Connie Mauro and her husband William of Douglas; Joan Aselbekian of Southborough; his former wife, Mary Hammond of Marlborough; and  many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 17 at 11:15 am, at Massachusetts National Cemetery, off Connery Avenue, Bourne.  It is highly recommended you arrive one half hour early, as the service will begin promptly.

There are no visiting hours.
