Robert P. Cadogan, Sr Obituary

Robert P. Cadogan Sr., 89 of Quincy passed away on February 25, 2016 at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham.

He was the loving and devoted husband of 65 years to Mary (Doherty) Cadogan of Quincy.

Born in Everett, he was the 7th child of John L. and Emma (Bailey) Cadogan

Bob proudly joined the US Navy at 17  and fought bravely in WWII on an LST from February 1944 to August 1946.  He went to many distant lands including Okinawa and Nagasaki during his time in the service.  Bob worked for Ford Motor Company for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He worked hard  to advance his career in various positions, primarily in sales and marketing and  spent 2 years in Washington DC.
Family was extremely important to Bob and he enjoyed a happy life with his loving wife, Mary. In 2015 they celebrated their 65th anniversary with a family party in Boston.  Bob was a very social person. He enjoyed playing golf and was a former member of Marlborough Country Club, Framingham Country Club and Cranberry Valley Golf Course in Harwich.  He also enjoyed traveling to area casinos and trying his luck at keno.  Bob will be sorely missed by  his family and his many friends.

In addition his wife he is survived by his 6 children,  Maureen Moran and her husband Richard of Irvine, CA;  Kathleen Dawley of Newton;  Eileen Allgor and her husband Stanley of Wareham;  Susan Cadogan-Beebe and her wife Sandra of Plymouth; Robert Cadogan, Jr and his partner Brenda Horan of Chelmsford; James Cadogan and his wife Juliann of Wilmington; 9 grandchildren,  Ryan Dawley and his wife Angie; Brendan Dawley, Mark Dawley and  his wife Alicyn; Meghan Mancini and her husband Michael , Sean Moran and his wife Lisal; Spencer Moran; Caileen, Bridget and Maeve Cadogan; 3 great grandchildren Caleb and Oscar Moran and Matthew Mancini.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 28, from 2 to 5 PM at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, (Rte 30) Southborough.

A Mass of Christian burial  will be held on Monday at 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, 26 Highland Street, Southborough.  Burial will be private.
