Gino Phillip Tomasetti

August 23, 1977 ~ May 8, 2023 (age 45) 45 Years Old

Gino Phillip Tomasetti, 45, passed away suddenly on May 8, 2023. He is survived by his mother, Tessa Tomasetti, his father, Michael Tomasetti, and his stepmother Cindy Tomasetti, along with his sister April and his brother Ryan. He also leaves behind his partner Mary, his nieces Natalia and Gabriella, and his
nephew Travis.

Gino was, and remains, loved in several communities. He was born in Framingham, MA, but formed most of his childhood memories in Hudson, MA. He dedicated early mornings to being on the water with his crew team at St. Johns, where he attended his first three years of high school. For his senior year, he transferred to Holliston High, where he then received his diploma.

Eager to travel post-grad, he visited different cities, which included the cherished time he spent with his mom in Martha's Vineyard. This time together instituted a strong relationship that continued to grow throughout Gino's life. Years of conversation stimulated by their intellectual similarities, their love for a good book, a good film, and a good laugh over a cup of tea, all nurtured what could be described as an unbreakable friendship that will be honored and remembered dearly.

Gino and his dad shared a bonding passion for golf, which ultimately flourished into an exciting chapter of Gino's life. Even when he was off the course, it was typical to be talking to him while he swung a phantom golf club. In 2003, he moved to California to attend a professional golf school, where he then graduated and became a member of the PGA. Consequently, Gino made a career out of his favorite hobby, as an Assistant Pro Golf Instructor at The Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. He was notably devoted to golf as a career, but that never took away from the love he had for it as a sport. One of his fondest memories was a trip to Scotland with his dad to watch the Open at St. Andrews. He lit up every time he reminisced on this experience. He was so grateful to go, but more importantly to go alongside the person who constantly showed up, encouraged, and supported him in his dream that had, at that time, become a reality - his dad.

Despite his accomplishments on the west coast, at heart, Gino was a family man, and valued time spent with family over everything else. Accordingly, he forfeited his career to move back to Massachusetts, where his heart still resided. Upon returning, he attended IT school to pursue a career as an IT Technician. Shortly after admittance, he decided to, instead, take the opportunity to work at his father’s company, Come Rain or Shine Tent Works, which is owned and operated by the family. When his dad retired in 2017, Gino was honored to be able to take over his dad's role and to bring a fresh perspective and expertise to the family business. His business partners and crew were his extended family, which made him fall in love with the job even more. He devoted himself tirelessly to his company right up to the very day that he passed. His diligent efforts will continue to be celebrated and tended to.

There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful Gino was. Kind, thoughtful, loyal, genuine, intelligent, witty, empathetic, and driven - are just a few of many words.
We will never stop missing his beautiful smile, and we know he will be with us during every ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard, on every golf course, and at every event with Come Rain or Shine. His memory will keep him with us forever. We love you, Gino.

Gino will be laid to rest in Southborough next to his paternal grandparents, Alice and Raymond Tomasetti.
