Dorothy Annette (Malament) Orentlich

Dorothy Annette Orentlich, 91, of Framingham, MA was born on July 21st, 1932 and passed peacefully on August 28th, 2023. Dorothy was a very beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Cousin.  Dorothy was affectionately called Dot, Dottie, Aunt Dor, Grandma Dot, Grandma, and Grams.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Charles and Bessie Malament. Dorothy was one of four children. Her older twin sister Alice (by 5 minutes) passed on April 24, 2020. Dorothy is survived by her younger brother Kenneth Malament and younger sister Joyce Poupko and her husband Howard Poupko.

Dorothy was married for 65 years to her beloved husband Nathan Orentlich who passed away on June 14th, 2020.

She is survived by her three children, Frederick Orentlich and his wife Linda Orentlich, Cheryl Sayegh and her husband Alex Sayegh, and Michael Orentlich and his wife Lisa Orentlich. Dorothy is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Michaela Di Nunzio and her husband Luca Di Nunzio, Austin Orentlich, Sarah Orentlich, Jared Orentlich, David Sayegh, Jonathan Orentlich and Joseph Orentlich, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins, all whom she loved very much.

Dorothy spent her childhood in Brooklyn, New York. After she married Nathan, they moved to Queens, New York, and later to Long Island, New York, then finally to Massachusetts. Dorothy spent most of her career as an Executive Secretary. She worked for several companies over the years and had her longest tenure with Raytheon. A testament to her hard work, she received several awards and accolades for outstanding performance. She was also consistently active with several charities including Muscular Dystrophy and Cerebral Palsy, where she served in several capacities including event organizer and Raytheon liaison to those charities.

Dorothy was an extremely loving, accepting, and positive person, who chose to see the good in people and celebrated the success and happiness of her family and friends. 

Dorothy grew up in a loving Jewish family and came to believe in Jesus Christ as the promised Jewish Messiah. She will be greatly and deeply missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 10:00-11:00AM at the Chapel of the Cross, 160 Flanders Rd., Westborough, MA 01581. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00AM in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Southborough Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Rd., Southborough, MA
